Maple Ridge, British Columbia
1st Haney Scout Group
Dates: May 5—6
Time: 9am — 4pm each day
Location: Ridge Meadows Hospital
Last year the 1st Haney’s Colony went out to help create a community space at the Ridge Meadows Hospital. The Beavers had so much fun they decided they wanted to come back this year to update and add to the garden. They are so excited to participate in Scouts Canada’s Good Turn Week again and this time they invited the rest of their Group to join them in making this community garden as great as it can be. They plan on going back to the hospital on May 6th and 7th from approximately 9am-4pm each day. The Scout Group intends to clean up the Rehabilitation Unit Garden by removing all of the overgrowth and invasive plants, cleaning up the outdoor patio garden and adding several more garden boxes with flowers.
This is the second year that the 1st Haney Scout Group has worked with Ridge Meadows Hospital. The White Tail Beavers enjoyed last year so much they decided to do this project again so that the hospital could bloom and become a less gloomy environment for its patients and visitors. They wanted to do a good turn that would have a positive impact on the patients at the hospital because they need something to make them happy in a time that things might not be so bright for them. Everyone involved is looking forward to the event and seeing the happiness and excitement it will bring to the patients and community.
